My preemie has RSV:(

I wish there was something I could do to make her feel better. She is just so congested and her cough breaks my heart. I'm so annoyed she wasn't eligible for synagis this season:(

We've been using the humidifier, vicks rub, sitting in the steamy room, saline spray, and Tylenol. Any mom tricks you've learned along the way that help?

Just suck as much as that drainage out of her nose as you can. Nose Frida has been wonderful for us. Also, while in the bathroom with the steam, hit on her back lightly to help break it up. Is she sleeping at an incline? Besides all that I think you are doing everything you can.

We love our Nose Frida:) I didn't know that about hitting her on her back to break up the stuff up. I will try that one.

Chest PT- here is a quick tutorial

Chest PT works wonders to help drain the crap out of their lungs. I was told to either do it with Jax laying on my legs with him tilted downward or sitting straight up. To do his left side I lay him down on his right and hold is left arm up with my left hand and starting at his back I tap with three fingers, although you can probably do the whole hand cupped method, and go from the back to the side and then to his chest. Do three to five minutes on each side. I usually do it after a breathing treatment or when we are done in the steamy bathroom as it might be a little looser at that time.

Do they have her on a nebulizer? That is what really helped us-- .5 Pulmocort 2x's per day and Duoneb treatments every 4 hours. We did that for about 5 days and then started scaling back-- it really helped Liam!

GL! I know how hard it is...hopefully spring is just around the corner!
