I used to really like the name Keira but not I have a niece with the name. The more I hear it the more that first "keir" sound makes this weird ear-piercing sound that drives my head crazy. That may sound ridiculous, as I used to love the name, but I guess you have to hear it a million times said out loud or yelled across a yard to understand. (She is 12 by the way)
I like Erin better, but it would probably bother me that there is a male equivalent so when spoken it is totally unisex. I have a nephew named Aaron and while I like the look of his name, I have known more Erin's so it is a girl name to me.
Re: Thoughts on these names: Erin and Keira?
I like Keira.
Side Note: I know a woman named Erin and her daughter is Reagan, so it's interesting that you've chosen those names.
