Can't wait till I feel more pregnant

I'm 16 weeks and still really don't feel pregnant. I know there's nothing to be worried about but I still just wish I had more physical reassurance. Basically the only thing I have when I look in the mirror is bigger, tender boobs. I haven't felt any movement even though I'm trying to be super aware of it, and my belly doesn't really seem much bigger to me. When I lay on my back at night and try and feel for a tummy, I just don't feel much. I have my big anatomy u/s in two weeks and I just imagined me being big and round and maternal by then. I know some people don't really "pop" until around 20 weeks or so, but I just can't wait till that happens! When did you physically feel pregnant?

  • It's different for everyone. I didn't really get a bump until 24 weeks but I wasn't in a hurry really. And honestly, by the end of it your are so tired that you can't wait to have your body back. Maybe I'm just not maternal enough. LOL.

  • When it comes to pregnancy, everyone's on a different time-line ... but don't worry, coming for you too Smile. I could still wear my regular jeans at 16 weeks, wearing a belly band on occasion. But then, BAM!! I popped out around 20-some weeks and I'm 26 weeks now and totally all stomach -- 25 pounds of stomach! It was really fun up until 3 days ago when my quality of sleep really started to suffer, and now I'm starting to get really achy and heavier. It's all a trade off -- love being pregnant because, of course, I can't wait for the end product. But if you can avoid a few extra weeks of discomfort -- embrace it by all means, and be happy!

  • I agree with the previous post- it's very different for everyone. Many women don't start showing or feel movement until closer to 20 weeks, especially if this is your first baby.

Don't worry- the bump and movement will come! It's hard to wait when you're excited, but hang in there!

  • I am 20 weeks and still dont feel like I look pregnant. I havent gained any weight but I have what looks like a beer gut now. Dr says as long as baby is healthy it doesnt really matter.  Im ready to look pregnant but im with everyone else this summer we will be wishing we were complaining about not being big enough haha. About movement I have felt it since around 16 weeks so be patient. Drink some oj or eat a meal and lay down. Thats when I can feel her most.

It is funny because at 16 weeks, all I wanted was a bump and to "feel" pregnant!  Now I am with you...if I could just sleep one night all the way through....it would be amazing!

Ditto.  I couldnt wait to look pregnant then BAM!  Right around 20 weeks my belly popped.   Now I am hauling around a lot more weight, I am tired, my back hurts, its getting harder to do regular tasks and my sleep has been seriously suffering because I just cant get comfortable.  Enjoy feeling great while it lasts!!

  • I am 24 weeks and still waiting to feel pg.  If I wear full pannel pants, I look it.  If I wear the kind of pants with the small waistband, I don't look pg at all.  I've lost some pounds (I had some wiggle room there!).  I think people think I am lying.  I can feel her move and you can see my belly move if you pay attention but other than that.....nothing.

  • I feel the same way. I am 18 weeks. I have gained about 13 pounds but i feel like I just look chubby. Its not all belly it spread over my hips. I work in a salon with 2 other pregnant girls and I just look like the fat one. Haha i know it will get better once I am further along but I envy their cute little bellies.,

  • Maybe it's just you? Do other people tell you you look pregnant?

I don't look pregnant just chubby! My friends and family all tell me I'm not showing but for some reason people at work say I'm really poking out.

I would say just don't worry about it and apparently you need to enjoy your sleep while I can!
