Did any of your LO have major allergies to everything? my poor DS seems to have gone the way of mommy and is allergic to everything and has some kind of reaction or another. i'm so scared to start table food that i think i'm holding him back. he loves feeding himself the baby mum mum rice crackers and the organic rice puffs, so i think he's ready but i'm afraid of starting allover again.
we've finally got his eczema in a manageable state, he's not sneezing every day, we've weaned off the pepcid for his GERD. we've still got cradle cap though. that has never gone completely away.
i feel like a newbie and need some advice from you mature ladies.
Re: food allergies, what did you do for table food
He'll be okay! Just do it gently, and maybe do new foods at breakfast or lunch instead of dinner, just in case? Maybe find a toddler cookbook or get some good doctor recommendations. I think if you do it slowly enough you'll be able to catch allergies before they're an issue.
Good luck!
Slowly is exactly right as the PP said.
1 new food a week is what I did with my allergy ridden DD#1 as well. It takes time, but you get there. Just do lunch for now until you get a nice rotation of safe foods. Then you can add breakfast and finally dinner.
