Ideas for location for Baby Shower

hi Ladies,

I live near the galleria. Step Mom offered to hostess and asked if I want to do it in one of our houses or out.  My first thought is out of the house, but I'm open to suggestion.  Did anyone have or attend a shower in a neat place near the galleria area?

thanks,

Re: Ideas for location for Baby Shower

  • A friend of mine did one of my baby showers at The Mad Potter (ours was at the west gray location, but they should have something over near the galleria?)  We brought stencils, and everyone decorated a tile.  It was really cool!  I took all of the tiles after they were fired, and put them into a chalkboard for DS.  The host brought in some little sandwiches and snack foods, and I opened gifts while everyone was still working on their tile.  It's probably not quite what you are looking for - but just letting you know some options!

  • Sugarbaby's on Shepperd and Alabama is pretty nice. They have a small private room that I think is perfect for a baby shower

  • I had a really large shower last month at the Ninfa's on Kirby and Richmond. They looked into Sugarbaby's, but they couldn't fit the 50+ people that attended. Ninfa's was great and the room was in the back and there is plenty of parking.

  • Thanks for the suggestions,

Mad Potter hadnt crossed my mind yet but I have been there a couple of times and that seems like a good idea. Fun and neat that guests can make a gift for baby there.

I have been to Sugarbaby's and I think that place is adorable. They have a max of 24 people to the private room so I will have to determine my guest list to see if my group would fit.

Ninfas is actually where I had my rehearsal dinner and it was great!  My FIL did the organizing but I think they were flexible and had good prices.

    All good places to consider!

I will say at Mad Potter we had about 17 ppl and we were crammed in the upstairs party room - so if you are looking for a bigger crowd, you may have to consider renting the whole place out (i am sure they will do that?) or having it somewhere else.

I had my rehearsal dinner at the party room at Cafe Adobe (Shepherd and Westheimer) and we had around 60? people and everyone fit nicely and we didn't feel like we were in the middle of the restaurant.  There is probably a food minimum, though - I don't remember.

  • I just went to one at Backstreet Cafe.

And I've attended a bridal luncheon at Ouisie's before, which is lovely.

If the host(s) are trying to cut costs in any way, it will usually be cheaper to do one at home.

  • I went to a shower at La Madeline and it was very nice.  It was at the Westheimer and Beltway location.  Really nice for a smaller party.

My baby shower was at that Cafe Adobe and it was great! They have a couple options for private rooms. There's a big one upstairs and we were in a smaller one downstairs (there were about 25 people at my shower).
