really, if i hear that one more time i will scream. i have been ttc for the last 8 months. i just started provera 2 days ago, waiting patiently to start my first cycle of clomid. i just needed to blow off some steam on this subject since i think most of you know how i feel. i am so sick of hearing people say that i need to stop thinking about getting pregnant for it to happen. Can anyone tell me how to do this, because every month it seems to get harder and harder.... how do you not think about the only thing that matters.......thanks

It's hard to get that advice esp for people who barely had to try. But after 2.5 years of trying I can tell you that relaxing is helpful.
There have been periods where TTC is EVERYTHING in my life and it's horrible for my marriage and my life. Now I try to surround myself with lots of things way beyond TTC although it is always in the back of my mind.
I try to take baths, go for walks, exercise and do little things just for me that help me relax and have "me time".
I think that people who say "just relax" don't mean literally, maybe they don't even know what they are trying to say but after many moons I take it as don't let TTC be all consuming in your life.
Best of luck!
I just heard this from my SIL last week and I basically let her have it in a e-mail. Well I did it in a nice way and told her relaxing does not work for me. I said we have been trying for 3 years and we are at the point that we need medical help. I posted on my blog things not to say on Friday, blog is in my siggy.
Then I found out that my MIL told one of my good friends that we needed to relax. Luckily my friend is a nurse and has suffer from infertility and set my MIL straight. I am hoping I do not hear any more from her.
(((HUGS))) - GL! I hope things get better for you.

TTC for over 3 years. After several infertility treatments, we received our first BFP!!
Ugh, I HATE, HATE, HATE that saying! DH and I have been TTC for 2.5+ years now, and we get that from everyone!
In fact, our BF's told us that they were expecting and had the balls to say if we stopped stressing about it, we could expierence pregnancy together. WTF??
Trying to stay positive and stressfree after such a long time is just not that possible.
Good luck ladies!
Can't agree more with you all.
Maybe if you stopped stressing, maybe if you didn't go to school and work so much.
My mom's favorite, "only God knows." No disrespect to God, but my mom really needs to stop saying that.
