Excessive Drinking?

Charlotte drinks from her sippy 24/7.  She's addicted.  Mostly she gets milk, sometimes water and sometimes juice mixed with water.  She doesn't care what it is, she wants to drink it! This is not so great for her diapers, I swear she pees through whatever I put on her.

My question is, is this a normal toddler thing?  Is there any reason I should limit fluids?  Her drinking habit seems excessive to me.

TIA!

  • I thought you were talking about yourself before I opened the post. ;) <> In all seriousness Leo definitely does not drink that much at all. What if you try to limit her to sitting at the table or staying in the kitchen with her drinks. Is her appetite still good? I think I have heard too much juice and milk can cause kids to eat less.

maybe it needs the br in the brackets.

  • I would try to figure out how many ounces a day she is drinking.  She might be sipping a little every once in a while and not drinking a ton overall.  I think at that age, my pedi recommended no more than 24 oz of milk each day.

As long as her fluid intake isn't interfering with how much she was eating, I probably wouldn't worry about it too much.

    This, exactly.
