Fire update: NBR: xp 2nd and 3rd Tri

-->

Hello! I wanted to thank everyone for the wonderfully kind and caring comments left on my post from a couple weeks ago, as well as the PM's of care.

It's been a rough few weeks, but we have an amazing and supportive community; I know we are very blessed. The fire turned out to be arson and an accelerant was poured down the hallway and in front of each doorway (which is why my neighbors had to climb out their window, four floors up, and cling to the bricks for life!)...it's highly unlikely that we would have made it out unharmed had we been home when it started.

I miss my kittens terribly. I can't tell you how much. I want them back. My heart is broken and the tears just fall and fall when I think of them.

Things are coming together, though. FI and I are still getting married next weekend - friends have come together to help us find things to wear and are dolling up the church to make it an extra happy day. We found an apartment that screams have-your-baby-here! which are hard to find in my neighborhood. Some furniture donations from friends and friends of friends, etc, are making their way to us and as soon as a bed arrives we'll move in from where we've been staying (ladies, count your body-pillow-blessings because 28 weeks pg and sleeping on the floor is rough stuff!! even with a thin futon matress!).

The Bump has become eversoOOo much more dear to my heart through all of this. Sure, it's a message board, but the whole reason I wasn't home was because I was out with a dear friend whom I met here. There have been several offers of help and donations: THANK YOU! there are no words to capture the feeling I have in my heart.

 Here is a link to my blog entry/some photographs:

Thank you all over and over again for the continued support, thoughts, prayers, and kindness!

xO.

  • So glad you're moving on, doing well and that you've found a new place though I can't imagine how hard this has been on you.

    I looked at your blog and saw your poor, sweet kitties :(

    Hope they catch the a-hole that did it!

  • Arson? Holy crap. WTF is wrong with people??? I am so glad that you found a new baby friendly place to live and are getting married still. Life goes on :) I am, however, really sorry about your lost kitties. That is so sad. Hugs.

  • Ohhh, the kitties.  I didn't get the chance to know them, but reading about them I already love them.  I am so sorry.

    I'm glad things are looking up otherwise, and I hope they catch the awful person who did this.

  • Your poor kitties. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad things are working out with the living situation and that you have a place to stay. Good luck with the wedding.

    What an evil person to intentionally start this fire and cause much havoc/pain in peoples lives.
