Random ? about treadmill cleaning

We just got a treadmill and DH runs hard on it and his sweat drips over the machine (yucky, I know).  I bought a spray bottle today and I am going to make him wipe it down when he is done using it, like you would at a gym.  Do you have any idea what is in those bottles?  I do not want to damage the machine with a harsh cleanser, but I am assuming there is more than water in there.

    Have you checked the owners manual to see what they recommend? I've only heard water and a mild detergent (dish soap).

    The owners manual is probably a good place to start.  I do not know why I did not think to look there.  I had not heard dish soap, I will look into that too.  Thanks!
