If the statistics are that most first-timers giver birth at 41 weeks

instead of 40, that would give me an 11/11 baby Cool

Which would be awesome, but I also am afraid that 11/11 would be a horrible day to give birth because there are probably a lot of kooks who targeted that date on purpose

Raising a threenager since 11/11

  • I was thinking the same thing today..there is a good chance for us early birds to get that date! Only time will tell!

  • Trust me, when it comes down to it, you'll be beggin' that baby to come out sooner rather than later!

  • It was all over the news that women who conceived around 2/18 would have an 11/11 baby - so yeah, that could get the crazies going. But, not every woman is ovulating around then so what can they do. I read that 38weeks to 42 weeks is normal. It will be fun to see which of us actually give birth on our due dates. My co-worker was due last Nov 1st and sure enough that's the day she gave birth!

  • As of right now we are due 11/11/11 and definitely didn't shoot for this. After 14 months of trying, 11/11/11 couldn't have been a more perfect date but I am guessing this may change on March 29th when we go for our first ultrasound. If only life were that simple, I would have picked sometime last September 2010 so we would not have had to go through all the testing. On the bright side we appreciate this moment probably more than we would have had we gotten a positive over a year ago.

  • According to when I ovulated, I am due 11/11/11, but I definitely didn't "target" this date, I am just thrilled to be pregnant at all.  I expect that the date might change once we have our first u/s.  And even if the EDD changes, the baby may just decide to come whenever he/she wants!

Exactly this.  I can't help when I ovulated (2/18) or what date the baby comes.  As long as the baby is healthy, I could care less about an 11/11 baby, although it would be pretty cool.

Also, OP is probably right.  L&D will probably be full of the crazies who elected to have c-sections and inductions on that date.  I'd rather give birth another day just so the doctors and nurses aren't so overworked.
