Post-partum molting

I'm so tired of losing hair!  I knew I'd start shedding more at some point postpartum, but it's really getting gross. I have to sweep the bathroom floor almost every day, and when I take my ponytail out, about 30 hairs come with it. Not to mention pulling clumps of it off my arms and shoulders as it falls out in the shower. So gross. Ugh.

  • Ew, if I start losing hair I won't have any left! I never got that luxurious pregnancy hair thing :(

  • Oh honey, I can relate! It was so depressing for me. I literally had a receeding hairline. Mine stopped when she was about 6 months old. Then I had to deal with the little baby hairs sticking up along my hairline until they got long enough to lay down. It is one of those "fun" things about having a baby that no one tells you about!

  • I lost hair for awhile as well.  I think it did stop when Evan was around 6 months old.  For awhile I had spikes all over my head as it started to grow back in.
  • I'm right there with you.  Thank goodness I have a ton of hair.  Kev is super grossed out by it though.  I have to clean the floor every time I brush/blow-dry.
  • I'm still losing it after starting at about 3 months PP. And my stylist was kind enough to point out to me that it looks like my hairline is actually receding a bit. Niiice.
  • I hate to say this, but I think mine got worse around 7-8 months.  I don't really remember when it stopped.  It was surprising to me because I don't think I ever got the luxurious pregnancy hair either, but man did it fall out!

  • I somehow forgot this was a pp symptom.  I was wondering why I was suddenly losing so much more hair!
  • I HATE this!!!! I have been losing my hair now for 3 weeks. At first it didn't bother me b/c I have thick hair so i'm used to it, but not this much and this much for this long. I started to think I was going to go bald b/c I have to clean my hairbrush out EVERY DAY!!! Ahhhhh......
  • My hair was one of the few things about me that looked great when I was pregnant.  For the first time it was somewhat thick and had tons of body.  Not too much has fallen out yet and I was hoping it wouldn't.  Although, from the PP's, I fear the worst is yet to come!

  • It's so gross!  I have uber thick hair anyway so I don't notice that I'm going bald, but I have the same thing happen with the ponytails and I clean enough hair out of the drain when I take a shower for a nice wig.

  • My hair loss was awful.  It stopped around 8 months pp.  I can still tell which hairs have grown in...they are chin length whereas the rest of my hair is long and down my back :)

  • Mine is disgusting!  I actually have bald spots around my part that I now try to strategically cover each day.  I feel like an old man with a come over.  The good news is that I am now seeing less and less hair come out (5 months in) so hopefully it will all grow back.
  • Oh, glad I'm not alone here. I have a ton of hair so thinkfully I'm not experiencing the bald patches, but it's so icky.

Every morning in the shower I think "I need to post on the Nest about shedding" then I forget.  Stick out tongue
