Pediatrician Recommendations - Lakewood

I'm going through the pediatrician selection process in Lakewood and am at a loss for narrowing it down.  My ob told me..."I've don't know of any bad pediatricians in this area."  That didn't help at all :)  She also recommended that I talk to friends in the area with kids, but I don't know anyone around Lakewood who has kids.  SO...if anyone has any suggestions or places to stay away from...please post.

Thanks!

  • I go to Pediatrics West, they have a branch at Lutheran and one on c470/Bowles. They are amazing! They have a special check in for 2weeks and younger, every time I call I can get an appointment that day. If I have questions they have a triage nurse that will answers any questions and after hours they have the Children's Hospital on call that will answer any questions or have you come in. There is a Children's Urgent Care at Lutheran they associate with as well as the Children's Hospital at Anschutz Medical Center. They have a few doctors and some great medical assistants.

  • We have also had good experiences with Pediatrics West.  We've had a lot of experience with a NP by the name of Michelle.  We love her!
  • I have grown up in the Wheat Ridge area and I actually went to Pediatrics West! Loved them. Hoping that when my H and I have a baby that they are in network, I will make the drive up to them! Oh, and my mom, who has a 10.5, 9, and 6 year old still takes them there. They also love it.

  • I've had mixed experiences with Pediatrics West. The first Dr we went to shared her practice with an NP who did not respect the parent (she would do things to our baby without asking our permission and give us canned speeches that were not relevant to our child). We switched to a different Dr, and He and his staff are great! The other thing you should know about Pediatrics West is they no longer call to confirm appointments but fine you $25 if you miss one.
