What are you feeling? (baby movement)

Hi all..

Just curious to know what kind of movement your feeling from your LO.  It seems like I went from kicks to almost like "rolling" Or (as I say) like a worm moving around. Someone said to me "oh he must be running out of room!) sure do hope not...lol

Re: What are you feeling? (baby movement)

  • I have a mixed bag going on. Some are no doubt kicks (strong). Others seem like punches and then there is the rolling over which almost winds up feeling like a mild cramp to me - bizzare!

A lot seems to depend on what position he is in. Since yesterday it seems as if he went from head down to transverse and now everything feels entirely different.

  • My baby has been head down since I started feeling it.  I feel hiccups down in my butt and near my cervix every day.  Also it loves to kick me in the right rib cage.  It sometimes moves far up into that rib cage too.  I think the butt presses up against my ribs.  I feel a lot of strong kicks still but a lot of "wiggling" in there all over.  When I am on my side there is a lot of wiggling but when I am sitting up there are more kicks.  I am measuring 3 weeks ahead so I do think that this baby is getting a little squashed in there.

  • Sometimes he does strong kicks and other times I feel him making little pulsing movements that almost tickle
  • I have a lot of rolling. Its a little nauseating and uncomfortable. It moves my entire torso now. However, I still feel kicks and punches. She also stretches out into my ribcage and that's a pain in the butt. Oh and of course there are the hiccups. Awesome.

  • With twins and me being ALL belly, I feel everything. I feel every shift of position (feels like a squirmy worm), every kick and punch (both are strong, but they're stuck head down at this point, so the kicks are higher than the punches) and what I affectionately call the "bubbling cauldron belly," for when they're kicking/punching each other and tons of little bumps "bubble" up from the middle of the bump. I also feel it when they attempt to stretch out, makes me think of a cat waking up from a nap or something. I can tell you right now, these little boys have very little space to work with at this point and sometimes their movements hurt!

  • The movement I am feeling has been more like taps, a few kicks or punches but not painful and a lot of rolling around!  Last night I was watching as my stomach did hte wave!!  It was neat to watch!  Feeling less movement as baby gets bigger, I have been told that this is normal. Probably passed the busy movement stage, I also read that the baby is beginning to sleep more these days!!

  • Measuring 5 weeks ahead and am experiencing mostly rolling except when I'm on my side I get pitter patters.  No major painful kicks.  I'm pretty sure there just isn't much room.

  • Kicks, rolls, hiccoughs, stretches...this baby likes to move!

  • I have felt a lot of movement for most of this pregnancy. More recently - I think he's running out of room, my entire stomach just starts vibrating! It's the craziest feeling and looks so funny!!
  • I have not felt anything painful yet (although I have an anterior placenta and the doctor says this pads his kicks - I wonder what it would feel like without it!!!!) but they baby moves ALOT.  He is awake for longer periods of time and he moves every which way.  I highly doubt he is any position.  You can just see my bump roll around on the outside - it is so weird.  But I love feeling these crazy movements!!!

  • kicks, punchs, rolls, hiccups, and sometimes it feels like she is doing gymnastics in there.  Much more movement then with DD1.

  • I've got a mosh pit in my ute right now because I had pancakes for breakfast.  Usually she rolls more than kicks these days.  We've hit the point where she does that heavy roll where all of a sudden it feels like I've got a bowling ball in my belly.

  • Big kicks and punches (where I can feel his knuckles on his hands and the heels on his feet...when I push, he pushes back)

Rolling around and somersaults (he's still going from head down to head up and back almost daily...and this hurts)

    Hiccups

    Small stretches.

He is definitely running out of room, and I can tell that the fluid around him isn't doing all the padding it used to, because his movements really hurt sometimes.

  • I feel the same. I don't even understand the kick counting thing because there are so many variartions of moment. A kick might actually be a punch. With all three of my pregnancies, as long as I feel regular movements- I'm happy. I never drove myself crazy with counting.

  • I feel kicks, punches, rolls, but I have not felt hiccups yet!!

I like the rolls, it looks like a tsunami is moving across my stomach.  Very entertaining!

  • Lots of kicks, punches and rolls!

The rolling makes me feel queasy though....even though it is fascinating to watch.

For kick counting it's not just kicks - they say to count each movement (except hiccups) as a "kick." I guess kick counts sounds catchier than movement counts.

  • Like his brother, this kid is sunny side up - there's no mistaking it.  It's quite painful - I get elbows, hands, feet, and knees pushing out.  It feels like I'm being knuckled!  I would love him to roll over and save some of those movements for my internal organs LOL!

Oh. lol...this was never actually explained to me. My OB usually just asks if I feel the baby moving. It's only from reading and comming on this board that I ever heard of counting per hour etc. This would drive me nuts!
