Disney VHS to DVD?

I found a box of 20+ Disney VHS tapes this week.  We no longer have a VCR and I really don't want to just give them to Goodwill... The kids would love these if they were on DVD....

Does anyone know if there's a program or way to (easily) convert VHS to DVD without paying a buttload?

Thanks~

  • You'll need a VCR to do it yourself. Here's a thing that describes the process. I think I can link because it's a how to: https://www.vhstodvd.com/

  • DH's aunt said she tried to copy from VHS to DVD because she has a bunch of Disney VHS's too and said that the copyright stuff kept her from being able to do it. She may have been doing it wrong, but she said she bought the stuff to transfer it and it didn't work.

If it works, let me know and I'll tell her how you did it! It sucks that between our parents and us we've all probably collected a bunch of Disney Classics and they're slowly becoming something we don't own equipment to show them on anymore.

  • We've had a horrible time trying to transfer some of our VHS movies to DVD. We're just wasting DVD's with every attempt and it's just cheaper go out and buy the title we are trying to transfer, then wasting DVDs.
