OT: Swim Suite Shopping....Vent/Advice?

So today I went shopping for a tankini for a FL trip coming up in a week... I was so upset that nothing would really fit.. I got a lil tankini with these bottoms that look like shorts, but the top is either big in the chest area and fits my belly, or it fits my chest and is way too tight on my belly. Im very small framed with a HUGE belly! Does anyone have any advice? Im so frustrated!!

  • Bikini!  Just buy a top that fits your chest and show off that huge belly!

  • I would just go with a bikini as well.

I kind of wish I was going somewhere warm before the babies came so I could wear one of my bikinis since I'm not sure I'll ever be able to wear one again..."twin skin" + bikini = scary! My doctor told me she doesn't think I'll have twin skin, but I'm not convinced yet.

  • I found a tankini at Kohls that ties in the top of the back.  It's probably a size bigger up there than I needed, but it fits my belly and I can just tie it tighter if I need to.  Baby hates when I wear anything snug so the looser belly part is great!

FWIW, I would have rather bought a bikini, but I'm in a wedding 6 weeks pp and needed something strapless so I don't have tan lines in my dress :)

  • Bikini.

Its not like you're going to hide that belly, so flaunt it!

  • I was actually able to fit into my regular Lands End tankini bathing suit just last week! I was shocked!  Sears sells them...
  • I  tried wearing one of my pre-pregnancy bikinis....that was hilarious since Ii went from an A cup to a D.  The hubby thought I looked great, however, I was not about to go out in public with half my boob showing.  Ii had to find a swim suit (in February) which was interesting.  I had luck with Destination Maternity.  Granted, they only had 5 suits to choose from, but at least I found a cute tankini that fit and I can wear it after while I', losing the baby weight.  I found a tankini that has ties on the neck so I can make it smaller if needed.  Good luck!
