If you had 4 days to yourself, what would you do?

My sister wanted to take Caroline for a few days, so i'm free between now an Wednesday!  Sadly, I am at a loss as to what to do with myself.  I have some boring/grown-up stuff like clean out closets, kitchen cabinets, etc.  And I know I'll end up shopping at some point.  But I want to do some fun "me" stuff too.    So give me ideas!

ETA I just got a mani/pedi yesterday, so I'm covered there!

  • I would die.  literally die.  omg that is SO awesome!  I would have a list of organizing things to do and I would try to exhaust myself and knock them all out in the first day and then I would spend the rest of the time laying on the couch watching TV and sleeping and I would set up lunch and dinner dates with all of my friends to places I can't really go to anymore with the boys.  omg, so jealous.  ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh and I would totally go see a matinee, or two!

  • and totally a massage because you could enjoy the massage, come home and still enjoy it and not have the knots come back the second you walk back in the door.

OK, I've got to step away from this post or I will go postal.  :)

  • I'd be goign to the spa. If you have an iphone, scoutmob has Spa Sentio (it's on howell mill rd) on there for 50% off services up to $75. I'm going to go check them out next weekend probably. And there's a great coffee house near there called Octane. It's my faveorite place to go and have coffee.

  • I would sleep for four days straight.

But if I woke up and needed something to do, I'd go see a movie, take my time shopping, get a massage, watch grown up tv, eat a meal where I didn't have to get up every two seconds, enjoy having had meal without having to clean up as though a small hurricane had come through the kitchen afterward, walk around enjoying how clean my house stays.

Or I might just sit down for more than 10 minutes at a time.

And if I hand't just moved and it needed to be done, i'd reorganize my closets.  But I just did that.

Do you still have Joey to take care of?

  • Ditto Heather...I'd make a list pronto of all the little projects, cleaning tasks, and organizing things that need to be done and work like crazy on them for a day or two to knock them all out.  I'd also meal-plan, grocery shop and catch up on laundry so I'm ready for when the chaos begins again and don't get immediately sucked back in.  I'd so have a honey-do list ready for the hubby too.

Then I'd SLEEP for 12 hours straight, wake up and have just about every meal out and about with my friends and shop, go to the movies, mani/pedi/brow wax, get my car washed, and oh the list goes ON.  Sounds like heaven.  4 days is AMAZING, like you can actually get stuff accomplished AND relax.  My mom will take the boys overnight sometimes (so 24 hours), or for a day (8 hours) and while of course I'm incredibly grateful, it's usually not enough to get a ton done.  I just have to have a running list and everytime they go, I work on stuff.

    ENJOY your time!!!!

  • Well, I'm spoiled and fly for free.  So I would be on a plane to Europe.  I used to do these 4 day whirlwind trips in college and I miss them so much!  Only problem is that now I'm such a granny that I would need 4 more days to recover and do all the stuff the other ladies mentioned.  Gah, you just made me so jealous.  Enjoy!

  • Holy crap, I wouldn't even know what to do. That sounds so heavenly and like everyone else, I'm very jealous. Definitely go to sleep early and wake up late and then take a nap later in the day! The spa for a nice massage, go see a movie, lunch with friends, shop without feeling rushed to get back or with a toddler.

  • I would clean my house from top to bottom and organize on day 1 and then the rest of the time I would sleep, sleep, sleep!  And then I would take my sweet ass time doing anything else!  I feel like I am always in a rush these days!  I would take my time shopping, eating, everything!  And I would probably go out with my friends and have lots of drinks one night because I wouldn't be woken up at 7 am the next morning (but you can't do that!).

  • Yay, thanks for the ideas!  I was so overwhelmed by having so much time, that I didn't know where to start!

We spent most of today organizing/cleaning (and my back is killling me!).  So tomorrow morning I'm going to finish up some chores, then I am spending the rest of my break doing whatever the hell I want.   I'm thinking massage, shopping, movies, naps, lunch and dinner out, baking a ridiculously complicated dessert just because I have time... maybe more shopping.... I'm so excited!

oh and I was so excited to sleep in this morning... and I woke up at 7:30 and couldn't go back to sleep.  So annoying!

  • Lucky you.

I would sleep, cuddle up with my hubby, go on a date, work out and go for a long run, get my hair done, the possibilities r endless.

Love the idea of going out of town for a getaway too.
