Birth Story Finally

Ok, so Sunday night I went to bed feeling pretty normal. I woke up around 11:30 and had some stomach cramps. I just tried to ignore them and went back to bed (I had been having contractions off and on all week). I woke up about 1:30 to go to the bathroom and I felt my water leaking. The leaking with thte combination of contractions made me think this was it!

I woke up my DH who was super excited! We got to the hospital and checked into triage at 3am. They tried the AF test and it wouldn't read because at the time she was checking me no fluid was leaking out, She then tried a cervix swab test which couldn't be used due to blood on it. So, she decided to just watch me for a couple of hours in triage. At 5 am she went to check me and she finished rupturing my water on accident. At that point I was admitted!

They let me labor on my own for a few hours and when I had only progressed a couple if centimeters after 3 hours, my dr wanted to start the pitocin! I didn't want it, but went ahead and let them give it. After about 15 minutes I was in excrutiating pain. Each contraction was sooo painful. My DH was begging me to get an epidural because he hates for me to be in pain. I finally agreed. It took them 20 minutes to get there and two tries, but we finally got it.

After a couple more contractions I felt relief!!! They checked me at that point and I was 6 cm! This was at 10 am and they said they would check me again at noon and I would probably be ready  to push. They came in at 11:30 to check me because the baby's heart rate was dropping and the head was "Right there!!". They told me to keep my legs closed and they ran to call my dr.

She got there within minutes and we started pushing, I pushed for three contractions and Kate Danni Clement was born!!! She let out one cry and was then so content! They bathed her and weighed her and she never fussed at all. She weighed 6lbs 12oz and was 18 inches long. She is so perfect and we are so in love with her.

I wish I could share a pic but still haven't figured that out! I will work on that when I have some more time!
