So I had a dentist appointment today for my regular cleaning. The hygienist cleaning my teeth pointed out a cavity (they didn't do x-rays but she still saw it) my dentist told me to come in as soon as I had the baby and get it taken care of and get x-rays done to make sure I don't have more (I have an auto-immune disease which wreaks havoc on my teeth) So the hygienist was asking when I was due I told her that I was due it have a c-section April 14th but I would be lucky to make it that long. She's like I know you can never tell when these little ones will come. I then explained that I had yet to make it past even 34 weeks. Her response was wow that must be nice not having to go all the way to 40 weeks and be all uncomfortable. I really had to restrain myself and explain that my kids ended up in the NICU and that I'd rather be uncomfortable than go through that again. I think after that she felt bad for having said it b/c she got all red and said oh yeah that's no good. The proceeded to make my next cleaning appointment. Grrr. Some people just don't get it! Thanks for letting me vent.
Re: ugh! the things some people say.
With both pregnancies (more so with P than M) at work, people would say things to the effect of, "no way you're going to make it." And "you're going to go anytime."
Some of it was BEFORE I was even 30 weeks because I looked so big I guess. I wanted to just be like well, I hope not because her lungs are not developed.
I think someone even said something before I was 24 weeks & it took everything I had not to say the result of that would be a dead baby.
