Unexpected death :(

My mom called last night and said my aunt got admitted to the hospital after having a drs visit in the morning. SHe was complaining of an ear infection in both ears and swollen lymph nodes and her PMD had her admitted to the hospital because her "labs were off". She ended up being in the hospital and having some more labs done which showed some "spots on her lungs and swollen glands" and the nurse said it looked like she might have cancer. She got transferred to the ICU around 10pm or so because of breathing issues. She ended up passing away around 2am. I am so shocked! She had COPD but she's been dealing with that for about 5 yrs but I'm in shock that they never caught any sort of other cancer symptoms. Apparently her body was full of cancer according to my mom who was there when she passed away. I feel terrible that I can't be there since I'm so far along and her sons are just a few years older than me. My mom and uncle are helping sort through to find everything (wills, life insurance, funeral wishes, etc) but I can't imagine how my cousins feel with her passing so quickly. I left work today because I can't really work in tears but now I'm doing better. It's odd to be this far pregnant and have a death so close, it really demonstrates life full circle.

So sorry for your loss. I had similar feelings about the circle of life when I was full-term and had to attend my good friend's mother's funeral. We also lost a distant family member out of the blue this week. It's amazing how quickly life can change.
