How to have a rough day:
1) Forget to set the alarm the night before. Wake up 20 minutes before you need to leave for work. Get a 3-minute shower and feed your baby so fast that you get milk all over yourself.
2) Change clothes, end up late for work.
3) With no coffee. The work coffee tastes like jet fuel today.
4) Have your drama queen out-of-control student return from a 4-day vacation to Hawaii while you're in the middle of teaching math. This is best if you have a staircase in your classroom for her to walk down while loudly proclaiming, "Hey everyone! I'm back! Didn't you miss me?"
5) Make sure your amazing co-teacher has a family emergency that makes you feel obligated to cover recess duty. Good-bye free time.
6) Forget your lunch. You overslept, remember? Scrounge up questionable apple slices, string cheese, and slightly stale crackers from your classroom and the staff fridge.
7) Oh yeah, the copy machine is broken. Hand-write out those important reminders to send home with students because a lot of the parents don't actually read the emails you send.
8) Let the rest of the day start to work out. Then right when you're ready to leave, forget to zip up your little cooler bag, bump it off a table, and watch as 11 oz. of milk that you pumped during all of your other "free time" spill allllll over the floor. Clean it up.
9) As you leave, find out that your workshop for Monday starts at 8, not 9, so you won't get to sleep in like you thought. Oh well, you slept in today.

Oh girl! I've BEEN there and I feel you.
I forgot my alarm on our early staff meeting day and woke up at 7:20... our early staff meeting starts at 7:45....
This. I have, in fact, cried over spilled milk.
I hope you have an amazing weekend to make up for your lousy day!

Me too, that alone is terrible, plus everything else, ugh. Drinks and rest for you this weekend!
Thanks, ladies. I just needed to vent to people who'd understand. My H thought he was being sweet when he reminded me that we have plenty in the freezer.
Luckily I had ice cream, wine, and a sweet baby to snuggle. So far things are looking good for the weekend.
