Moving company rec's

I looked really quick on yelp, but I'm hoping to have a few personal moving company rec's.

I found out today we are moving, in 11 days. I'm a little bit of a wreck...

Re: Moving company rec's

  • Woa! Where are you moving to?

We used Anderson Brothers Movers to move us to Belmont. It was the second time S' used them. We were very happy with them.

  • We've used Aaron's moving twice in the last two years. They packed the kitchen, we packed pretty much everything else. No problems. https://www.aaronsmoving.com/

Good luck - that is stressful. Where are you moving? Can I do anything to help you?

  • Long distance or short distance?

We used Stevens Moving for our AZ to CA move and were happy with them (we packed the boxes and they packed the truck and padded the furniture). If you are a member of an alumni or professional group see if they are hooked up with a mover - we got like 60% off the rack rate with an alumni membership.

Also, check out movingscam.com - fab website with lots of information, reviews, and references.

  • My friend just moved from Loomis to near Half Moon Bay. She used Starving Students. They never showed up on the day of the move at the new house. Decided to call and change the contract and demand more money in order to get her stuff. Showed up next morning with their stuff, most broken, missing and very damaged. Be very very careful and good luck. Sorry no recommendations  for you.

  • Our family has used Delancey Street Movers for many moves and have nothing but good things to say about them.  They were professional and VERY careful with our things.

  • We used The Handy Movers from Fremont to San Ramon - loved them!

    And, WHAT?? Moving? Where??? Why??

  • Thanks ladies. I will give those a call and get a few quotes. I love the idea of hiring packers but dh doesn't want to. I think we compromised on packers for the kitchen at least!!

We are moving to walnut creek, renting a house there, and then selling our house here on the peninsula hopefully early April. We are moving to be closer to family and live in an area with a lower cost of living. All around its going to be great, and I'm really excited. But also so so sad to be leaving. But its really the best thing for our family.

Good luck with the move L.  At least you know that there are a ton of nice ladies in the WC area from here.

I wouldn't have given you a recommendation if I knew you were moving to the East Bay! j/k best of luck with the move and getting settled in to your new place. I'm glad you are making a good change for your family.

  • I'm way late but we used United (I could've sworn it was another name 4 years ago--like a division of them) and had a great experience. I was hugely preggo with the boys and they accommodated us to move within 2.5 weeks (not far about 10 minutes away).
