Broke the bed

This morning I'm sitting in bed nursing DD and DH comes back upstairs to cuddle a little. He is talking, sits down in bed and suddenly we're flying backwards! The bed frame broke (it was pretty old and flimsy anyway)!

Our first thought of course was to check on DD - she was still latched and nursing away like nothing happened! I'm just glad it didn't happen in the middle of the night when she was sleeping with us! 

I've been wanting a new bed frame for a while... guess I'll be getting it now!

    I totes thought you were going to admit to some funky post-baby sex. But yay to finally getting a new bed frame! I hate it when I tell my DH something wont last much longer, he ignores me and acts surprised when said thing brakes/runs out.

    Well I'm not saying rough sex didn't play a role in its demise, just not in the final death, ha! We've had this thing since before we were married. Wink

    We found a frame we loved last year but DH backed out of buying it because of the price (we had just gotten our first time homebuyers' credit so I have no idea why he balked). This time around he can't say no - I am only tolerating this mattress-and-box-spring-on-the-floor crap for so long (like, a couple of days max)!

    I'm waiting for our frame to go soon. We bought it used in 2007, and it was already 10yrs old. DH wants it to die... I foresee an incident like yours in my future.

    This happened to us.... twice.  We got a hand me down bed frame from my parents when they moved, so when we got it it was already 10+ years old and completely made of wood.  I was laying in bed, and DH sat on the edge to put on his socks and BAM!  The whole corner fell.  It was soooooooo funny.  I've never laughed so hard in my life.  It happened the week after my first m/c, and was just the comic relief we needed at that moment.  DH repaired it, and about a year later the same exact situation happened.  I told DH he had to stop putting on socks, since that was obviously the cause.  He refused to fix it after that, so now we have a very nice captains bed that is great for storage.
