Klonopin?

I'm taking .5 mg twice a day, does that seem like a lot?  Is it ok to be on a Benzo med every day?  IT's working WONDERS, just want to make sure I won't get addicted.

    Im on clonazepam (same family) and when I was at my worst I was prescribed 1 mg 4x's a day! Im not down to 1.5. But even years ago when I was on it I was on .5 mg as needed up to 3 times a day. Been taking it on and off for years and every doctor I have been to says it fine for extended periods. Keep taking it and feeling better =)

    Klonopin works extremely well, however, you will probably get addicted. It's a HIGHLY addictive med. I took HALF of a .5 mg tab 3x a day. I didn't even know I was addicted to it until I tried to come off of it. It was a nightmare. I had to wean myself very VERY slowly. My advice? Don't take it for a long time. I ended up taking it for 5 years. I was sick all the time. I'm so glad to be off of it and if I had to go back in time, I would NEVER have taken it in the first place. I'm so glad it's helping you, but please be careful. I had a very hard time with it.

    The plan is to take it for a few more months (until end of April)--- do you still think it will be hard to get off it???  I started it in Jan.

    I think you will be fine. I always had breaks every few years but I found myself always wanted to wean off of it so you may not get addicted at all.

    I didn't mean to stress you out about it. That's the LAST thing you need to worry about. If you really need it, then just enjoy the freedom it gives you right now. Weaning off of it isn't the end of the world. I think you will be fine to only stay on it a few months. My drs said that they like to see people only use it for a few months. And when you do wean off of it, you'll feel stronger and ready to face anything!

    Thank you Wheels.  I'm going through a trial in April so I'm hoping when that is over with and my abuser is in jail, I'll be able to be able to handle my anxiety a whole lot better.  While I wean off, will I get sick?

    I'm on 1mg 5x a day.  Half a mg twice a day is not much at all..........especially if it's doing the job for you!
