Bf'ing day care mamas

How much milk does your LO drink per day at day care and how many times does he/she BF a day?  Day care has just switched DD over to having two meals of solids at day care (in addition to the 2 we have at home), so now she's down to about 10 ounces of milk in a day.  I BF her 3 additional times.  I'm wondering if that's still enough milk for her for a day.

Re: Bf'ing day care mamas

  • I think that sounds about right.  DD nurses 5 times a day (one of which is during my lunch break when I go to DCP and nurse her), and she maybe drinks 5 oz. at DCP besides that.

A lot of times she doesn't drink any, though (except for some water in a sippy) and she seems like she's doing fine - plenty of wet and dirty diapers and gaining weight right on track. As long as she seems happy and healthy, I wouldn't worry too much!

  • Nurse in the morning before work, breakfast at 830, 5 oz bottle at 1030, lunch at noon, 4 oz bottle at 330, dinner at 6, nurse to sleep at 815. So maybe 18-20oz total.
