Just got done with it and I'm not sure I'll be able to walk tomorrow! I really liked it though. I love how she gives me a great workout in under 30 minutes.
I also printed off the meal plan and started that today too. I did the oatmeal with apples and pecans breakfast. Never had that combination before.
What did you think of it?
Re: Ripped girls -- how did it go?
I'm so glad you posted. I haven't done my day's workout yet because I'm a weirdo and usually like to do my exercising at night. It helps me relax at the end of the day. I have started the meal plan with some slight modifications but so far so good. This morning I had oatmeal with a few almond slivers and dried cranberries, snack was a strawberry, banana and orange juice smoothie. I may be throwing in an extra snack or a few extra calories each meal because I'm still breastfeeding and I've read that it's not good to lose the weight too quickly. So I'm hoping for improvement after the 30 days, but prepared to keep working at it if I'm not to my goal weight by the end.
I do have one question for you ladies. I previewed the intro of the DVD and the first workout. She mentions one pair of "light" weights and one of "heavy". I'm guessing that's all about what you consider light and heavy, but was wondering what you all are using? I was thinking maybe 2-3 lbs. for light and 5 or 8 for heavy? I'm kind of a wimp. lol
One other thing, I also started a "Ripped in 30" journal. I recorded my beginning measurements and plan each day to write down everything I eat and any thoughts or feelings I'm having about the workouts. May be kind of cheesy, but that kind of stuff helps keep me motivated, in addition to coming on here of course!
Hope all goes well for the rest of you and can't wait to hear about everyone's workouts!
Dear God...my glutes are shaking. My triceps and abs are too. I just came out of 30 Day Shred and I saw a lot of similarities, and some differences. It will be good.
The question about different weights. Week one you should be good with a 5 lb set of weights. The only thing you might want a smaller lb weight for is in the warmup, where she does these funky circle/oval around the head things.
I like the meal plan. I'm pretty good at eating already, but I have my weaknesses. We like sweets here and desserts after supper. That is going to be a hard one to get rid of. Maybe we'll have to just to smaller sizes. DH really enjoys his desserts and his metabolism is so high he can eat anything and it doesnt' matter.
I like to run too, so I'll probably run a few days a week (now that it is nicer outside and I can actually see the road) and do this the other days.
I'll be interested to see how the other fare.
I'm a weirdo too. I CANNOT workout in the morning. I've tried and it would be so much better if I could, but I get these weird cramps in my side. Like I said in my pp I like to run. And if I run in the morning I get the same cramps. I've tried eating first, not eating, drinking water, not drinking water, going to the bathroom, having coffee, everything. I guess my whole life, I've worked out in the evening/afternoon so that is just what my body is used to.
I'm just working with my 3 lb weights. Seems fine so far.
For lunch I did the avocado wrap, which was really good, just not much food! For snack I did the Lara energy bar (brownie flavor) and it was pretty good. For dinner, we had tacos and I just ate one instead of my usual three.
So Day 1 went well! Wish I could fast forward to my new self in a month.
jallen, I hear you on the sweets/dessert thing. Lately I've been trying to eat a piece of fruit in place of my usual chocolate stuff. I've also been thinking about picking up some 100 calorie packs of something sweet to get my fix.
almostjennifer, that's awesome! Glad day 1 was good for you.
I had a hummus and veggie wrap for lunch and dinner is a low-calorie southwestern three bean and barley soup that I made in the crock pot. I did my workout and it felt good, yet really kicked my butt! It confirmed how out of shape I am. I'm really looking forward to continuing.
Yay Alli good for you!
Are you sore this morning? I'm a little sore.
