I introduced myself yesterday and mentioned that I had an appointment today with my PCP.

Well, she didn't even take blood, just gave me a pat on the back and took my urine. I am not angry with her, just a little puzzled. I wasn't expecting for her to follow my betas even, but I thought I would at least get an accurate hcg level. Oh well. She will call or email me with my "results". I think I can tell her what they are, lol.

She did say however, that she was impressed with the fact that I only took one pregnancy test. She asked, "How many tests did you take?"...I said, "One". She then said, "One! Usually women with similar situations as you take several!" Yeah, okay, goooo me, now take my blood! Too little too late, I can't obsess over numbers that aren't there, so I am just going to try and enjoy each day as it comes.

agreed!! I have to give you credit though...I probably wouldn't have left without getting more than a pee test. Um, helloooo, does she not know you're an expert with the pee test?? I'd need a little more from her than that (I do stalk my dr's office though)!

I had to push for an HCG test. I wanted to see some doubling (never did before). Once I explained that it would ease my mind a bit they agreed.

Thanks. I kind of have a type B personality, and I am not the most assertive person on the planet. She did make me happy when she said that she would let the obgyns know that I had a m/c and that my first appointment *might* be before 10 weeks. I told her that I was happy about that and that I was hoping for an earlier appoitment anyway....(we probably would have known 2 weeks earlier that I had an empty gestational sac if they would have seen me on the first day that I was spotting).

Right now, I am just going to do the whole breathe in, breathe out, and that mantra that I have seen here from time to time (thanks to lurking)...Today I am pregnant, and I love my baby! If any spotting at all shows up down the road, I will bang down the doctor's door to be seen!

Oh, and Kathymarie....I LOVE the "your" vs. "you're" in your siggy! I am not super critical of people's typing errors, but that one I absolutely cannot stand!

I pretty much told my OB that he was testing my hcg with my 2nd BFP. I don't think he would have decided to do it on his own.

And those cookies look delicious. I want one!

Oh, no. It's just that my husband and I have only been in Boston since July (so he can do a fellowship....he's a womens and perinatal pathology fellow, go figure!), and we are moving back home to Arkansas this June. We had always planned to return this summer, but since we've been up here for such a short time, I haven't had the chance to establish care yet with an OBGYN. I will see one for the remainder of my time here, and forward all of my records to my OBGYN in Little Rock, since she will be delivering (I hope!).

Yeah, I am sorry, I must have made a few pregnant ladies hungry with the cookies!

FWIW, my first pregnancy they didn't do any bloodwork either; they said the urine tests are accurate enough they don't need to reconfirm.

They didn't even do that for my first pregnancy, just scheduled a 10 week appointment, which I never it made it to. So I guess a pee test that the hospital can bill me for is a step up!

The doc did email me tonight and her message was very simple, "Good news, today's confirmatory test was positive. I will be in touch re: the appointment."

Now I have my fingers crossed for an appointment a little earlier than 10 weeks!
