For those of you who have been monitored for low fluid, what made the doctor suspicious enough to look for this? I don't get any U/S other than my 20 week, so I was just wondering what type of signals would be obvious if the fluid level was low? (I ask this because I just feel like I am getting less movement out of my baby this week.)

Re: Low Fluid ?
A lot of babies' movements change towards the end. There IS less fluid than earlier in pregnancy, and that keeps them from being able to do the kinds of acrobatics they used to.
However, a significant change in the number of movements is a good cause to call the dr. They'll want to check on baby. It was explained to me this way: you slow down when you're under the weather; so does Baby. I won't give you lots of scary possibilities, because LO could've just changed it's sleep/wake cycle. I strongly suggest, however, that if you're not getting the recommended kick count numbers, call your dr. Better safe than sorry!
The Bump has articles on kick counts, as does What To Expect, etc. HTH!
My doctor found out I had low fluids from doing an untrasound - but she had to do that to check on my fibroid, to determine if it was blocking the birth canal and would require a C/Section. So now I'm getting weekly ultrasounds (I guess) to check on fluid levels. I was able to get mine back up into the low range of normal by drinking TONS of water every day.
I don't know if that helps though - I don't think there was any difference in the baby's movement, even when my fluids were low.
