Question about Antagonist Protocol

Did your RE put you on BCP or not?

For IVF #1 I wasn't on BCP, but my RE is considering it for 2.2.  Just curious if it was part of your protocol.

TIA!

  • I was put on BCPs for both IVF cycles. Both times I took the entire 28 day pack, so 4 weeks worth.

I did not use BCP because my RE thought it might overly suppress me.  I used it for my first cancelled cycle and did not for the other 2 IVFs.

    TTC since 3/07. IVF#1 = canceled. IVF#2 = 0% fertilization. IVF#3 = BFN. IVF#4 = c/p.
    Moving forward with Adoption 2017!
  • I didn't take them.

  • No, not used except for DE cycles and exceptions, but none that I've had.

  • I'm just learning about Antagonist protocol. Seems like it is most often used with poor responders. It would then make sense NOT to use BCP's because of the risk oversupression. I have not received my calendar yet but I'm assuming that I won't use them. For those of you who replied yes to using bcp's, would you mind sharing your RE's reasoning/logic for doing so with Antagonist?

This is interesting. I'm on the antagonist protocol and was on BCP for 20 days.  However, I'm a very good responder.

  • I was on the "high responder antagonist" protocol and I took the pill before my cycle.
