Re: Weekly Check-In

  • Ben is going to be a sock monkey... we arent taking hiim out but he will "help" us pass out candy to other trick or treaters!

Ben turned 7 months yesterday, hes eating more finger foods and is really good at it, bread, carrots, puffs, wagon wheels, biscuits, bananas.... you name it!

  • Ryleigh is going to be Spider-Man this year (She loves super heroes!!  last year she was buzz lightyear and the year before she was super-man!) and I got the costume last year at Target after Halloween for $5.00!!!  Can't beat that!  We will be going trick-or-treating around the neighborhood and tonight she is going to my step-dad's nursing home to do a little early trick-or-treating!!  Not much else is planned!

  • Leah is going to be a peapod, but no trick-or-treating-- just helping us hand out candy :). I am going to eat a ton of the candy before the kids even get here, ha!

We are doing great. Leah is FINALLY not sick anymore (one solid month of colds!) and sleeping better.

  • Justin has an Indian costume, complete with feather headdress.  I haven't decided exactly when he will dress up, though.  We are not trick-or-treating with him.  He is having a Halloween party at school on Friday, but his costume will get completely destroyed if I let him wear it there, so I just don't know what to do.   We don't have any other Halloween plans at all, it's one of my least favorite "holidays" -- and I use that term loosely.

Not many new updates to report.  Justin got his 2nd haircut last weekend and looks like such a big kid now.  He is clearly understanding a lot of what we say to him, and is trying really hard to talk.  He does say several words that we understand, but probably not many other people do.   :)

Justin Thomas joined us on 8.4.07
    Tyler Anthony arrived on 9.21.09

  • Maggie's going to be a penguin.  We'll  probably take her to the neighbors to show her off and then to my in-laws to be with her older cousins.
    image Ready to rumble.
  • Elena is going to be a black cat. ?She will help us pass out candy. ?Also, my ILs and DH's grandma live on our street so we will take her to their houses so they can see her in her costume. ?Our dogs have costumes too. ?They will be a prisoner, a bee and a skunk. ?Yes- we have 3 dogs and a baby. :)
  • Charlie is going to be a gnome. My mom is making his costume. We're not taking him TOTing, but since it will be nice out we'll hang out on the porch and pass out candy. Daycare does a big Halloween parade, so he'll do that.

  • Griffin will be an adorable elephant this year.  I hope he can stand to wear the costume for more than 5 minutes (thats how long he could stand it on Tuesday).  DH and I always order Chinese and bring the fire pit around to the front yard and hand out candy from the front porch.  We don't have many trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood, but its fun to sit around a fire for a little bit.

Nothing new lately with Griffin.  Although we discovered he has 8 teeth now.

  • Hopefully Allie won't be here yet to dress up this year.  DH and I aren't really into Halloween so we're not dressing up either.  We usually have a party for all of the nieces and nephews but passed it off to someone else this year because of the uncertainty of when the baby would arrive.  DH has to work late so I'll probably just hand out candy and maybe head over to SIL's house for the party afterwards.

As far as updates, we've had a much quieter week than last and I'm starting to really feel pregnant.  I had been lucky and felt great all the way through but I'm just super tired now.  We go to the doctor on Thursdays so we'll see what they say.  I'm just ready to meet the little munchkin!

  • Emma is going to be a penguin!  We wont TOT, but she will help us pass out candy.
  • Ryan is going to be a pumpkin. I found a little orange sweatsuit thing with the pumpkin face and a green leaf on the hood at BRU for $5. Easy enough. No TOTing for us. We only get like 2 kids at our house (houses are far apart and no sidewalks) so we will probably take her to my parents to say hi then we are going to Parky's Farm for their Halloween Nights. We will see how long she lasts there.

Ryan had her 15 month check up yesterday. 22.5lbs and 30 inches. She had a total of 3 shots (5 vaccines but our dr uses a combo shot that is 3 in 1) . One was her flu shot so we have to go back next month for her follow up flu shot.

  • A puppy, as I'm sure you all have seen. :) She's going to go to my parents' house to "Trick-or-Treat" (i.e. show off her costume), then she will help us pass out candy for a bit. I have a feeling she'll like watching all the kids.
  • Kat is going to be a shark!  I can't wait to take pictures, I hope she isn't crabby!  We are taking her to a couple houses, family and friends.

  • Natalie is going to be a pumpkin and a cat (we have 2 costumes).  We're going to dress her up one costume to pass out candy and the other she will wear on Halloween.

As far as updates, Natalie had her 2 month pedi visit last week.  She weighed 14 lb and is 23 1/2 in. !  I couldn't believe it.  She is definetly a growing girl.  Also, she was diagnosed with a milk/dairy allergy.  All of the signs were there, and I am surprised I didn't figure it out earlier.  Since she is EBF, it has meant major diet changes for me.  It has been difficult, but if it helps her it is worth it.

  • My DD is going to be a female pirate. It was really hard finding a costume that we really liked that wasn't super expensive. It is really cute and she has a fun hat to wear, if she will keep it on. We are trick or treating on Fri night in our neighborhood. We will probably only take her to a few houses on our streets so my neighbor friends can see her.

  • Kellen is going to be a mummy and Ayden will be a chili pepper. We take them trick or treating around our street and up to IL house. We then go to my parents house and trick or treat there and then eat dinner with them and my sisters and BIL's.

Kellen starts Basketball this Saturday and he also has tournaments for Soccer. Ayden was baptized on Saturday and did so well. We got out the exersaucer and he LOVES it. So much to play with and keep him occupied for a while.

  • DS is in a sweatsuit that has a pumpkin face on it.  We are going trick or treating with some friends but I will only take him up to a few houses.  We are also going to hang out and pass out some candy after walking around for a few and have appetizers with friends.

DS is doing and saying tons recently!  He goes from belly to sitting, cruises on things, and tries to pull up.  We swear he says all done but not sure.  It is cute though b/c he says something like it after I do when he is done eating, hehe.  Watch those be his first words, hehe.

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!!

Our kids are 19mths apart and we LOVE it!!

Married to my BFF on 8.13.05 (after dating 5 years)!

DS born 2.14.08. DD born 9.30.09.

  • Nora will be a little ladybug. We don't get any trick or treaters at all so we'll take her to see the grandparents and maybe great-grandparents.
  • Jackson will be a rooster. I tried to teach him"cockadoodle doo" and ended up with "cocka" hahaha....

Not much new news- I've noticed him lately starting imaginative play, which is so cute. He has a baby doll and he will often "feed" her, or put her to bed. He always pretends to cook and clean up.

    =)

  • Brandon will be a pumpkin or a frog depending on the temperature.  My mom and I couldn't decide, and we got them from Once Upon a Child.  One was $5.50 and the other was $3.50 so we just got both.

Brandon's 2 month check up is tomorrow, so it's the big shot day.  Boo.  :(  I started back to work on Monday, and I'm exhausted.  However, Brandon has done really well at MIL's, and I'm glad we decided to drive a little more for the TLC he gets there.

  • Brenna will be a pumpkin.  We have a borrowed costume from one of my co-workers.  All of the kids of my co workers have worn it for their first Halloween.  It is WAY too big on her, but I am not one to break this cute tradition.  We will put it on long enough to get a photo or two.  She has a jack o lantern onesie and a pumpkin hat and bib for the rest of the evening.

Brenna is more awake now.  We are down to two big naps a day with 20 minute cat naps here and there.  She sleeps 10 hours a night.  She is also more and more vocal with each day.  She babbles constantly.  She has decided she wants to hold her own bottle and loves to stand upright with support so she can "dance".  Too cute.

  • Jack is going to be a baseball player. We have a Red's jersey, and we'll put a long sleeve shirt under it. Then he'll wear stretchy baseball pants with socks pulled up to his knees. And of course a baseball hat, most likely worn backwards. We'll prob only take him to a few neighbors and then he'll help us pass out candy. I can't wait.

  • Ethan is going to be a monkey :)  He's already worn his costume a few times - my sisters had a family festival at school, we took him for pictures at JCP, and our church had a fall festival this past Sunday.  We're not planning to trick-or-treat, but we're going to go to the grandparents' houses to show off his costume and hang out.

He is cruising like crazy... he loves to be down and moving, whether it's crawling or cruising.  He started saying "Dadadada" over the weekend (he had just said single syllable "da" before) and he is saying it all the time.  He is also waving hi like crazy!  He's doing really well with eating and has a great pincer grasp!  We are loving it.
