Dr appt - and headaches - and Dumb ER drs.

Hey Ladies! I posted about a week ago about some headaches i was having, and i ended up in labor and delivery and the ER.  Well they really did nothing for me bc it was not baby related, so in the er they did a bunch of blood work and all the good stuff.  Ended up all the could do was give me some drugs in my iv, and that didnt help the headache, but the Percocet did the trick to ease my 7 day headache.

I went to my ob appt yesterday and my dr was great.  She told me that my headache was what they called a cluster headache, and that when i begin to get it again, then i would need the pain meds again to get it to go away.  Then she began looking at my blood work from the Er.  She asked if they put me on an antibiotic....i said nope they sent me home with the same headache i went with and a few percocet and that was it.  She has I had another bladder infection, and that i should have been put on antibiotics....so I am now on a new set of antibiotics, for 7 days, and if this does not work then i will continue to be on medication for the rest of my pregnancy.

On a better note!! - Little one is doing well, heart rate is great and all is well, other than she is still breech, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that she turns, she has been like that since week 20 so we are hoping she turns!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  • I always get nervous when I have to take some meds while I've been preggo.  I'm glad that the Dr. didn't freak out over any of it except the part that they didn't catch the infection (which isn't any fun!)

On a side-note, I TOTALLY LOVE the name of your LO... the first name is so different and very beautiful!  Nice!

  • Thank you so much - our lo name was one my husband and I had picked out for along time.  Lena is a family name for my husband, and the name works so well with our extremely Italian last name.  Emilena is just something we both love, everyone asked about the spelling but we kept it to the Italian spelling so it would look nice with our last night!  Thanks again, we always are told what a pretty name it is, and how different it is.  I like that - my first name is Katrina, and although it is becoming more popular since the Hurricane, it was one that when i was growing up no one had, and i loved that about it!!
