breast pump comparison

So I am debating between 2 medela pumps which are supposed to be great for working moms. One is about $60 more than the other- it comes with a few more accessories, but having never done this before, I'm not sure whether they are worth the extra $. any opinion on these two?

Go with the Lansinoh....the double one, my best friend has one and it works better than the $230 Madela she bought.

Get the tote one. I have the one with the separate bag and it's a pain every time I pump, I need to take ou the pump and parts and set it all up, whereas the tote you just hook up and go. My friend at work who was pumping has the tote and loves it. I was always so jealous everytime I went in to pump and saw her neatly stashed bag. I'm not sure if there is a difference in the actual pump either. Plus the separate bag is so bulky.

Whatever you do- DON'T buy it at BRU.  So overpriced!

Try these websites (you have to email them to get current quotes- Medela doesn't let them list the prices on the websites, because they are so much cheaper than BRU).

I have the PISA in the back pack and was pretty happy with it...however after doing some thourough research I decided to buy the Ameda Ultra Pump on Amazon

It was the only pump that was ranked consistently 4.4- 5 stars...

So i figured maybe I can improve on my prior experience...

Ditto the prior post against the Metro Bag...when at work you want to be able to just open the zipper and hook the horns up...so the metro bag might be a PIA

I have an Ameda Purely Yours and I would highly recommend it.

I bought a medela Pump in Style in 1997 when DD was born. Have used it for 3 children and still plan to use it for this one. It has lasted all this time with NO problems.

    Well worth the money!

With last child, I also rented a symphony by medela (set it up in a stationary place at home and kept the pump in style packed up for work and travel)

I had a lansinoh, and I got a medela later because it was WAY uncomfortable and didn't work as well. It's all about the shape of the breast shields, and lansinoh makes plenty of good products, but their breast shields always made me red, swollen, and welty around the nipples! Medela's worked great and never made me sore!

Both of these pumps were fantastic for me!
