I have a girl coming to give me a quote today and she asked what i want done exactly. Well, i'm not sure. Definitely the bathrooms, and a good floor mopping on the hardwood downstairs. Do you have them dust? Only certain rooms? What do ou have them do and how long are they there usually?
Re: What do you have housecleaners do?
Wash dishes, wipe down counters, sweep and mop floors, vacuum upholstered furniture (cat), vacuum downstairs, clean bathrooms, dust (including picture frames), make beds if sheets are put out, 3-4 hours. Occasionally add on for special things like cleaning out the fridge/stove. We have a 3 bdr, 2 bath house.
I have a much more extensive list I use now that we have a nanny, and she has 5+ hours a week for cleaning... I have daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. Sounds like it's overkill for you, but let me know if you want me to email it to you.
I'm going to make an AWESOME big brother.
Damp dust everything in every room, floors (hardwood, carpet, tile), wipe down baseboards once/month, get cobwebs from corners/fixtures, bathrooms, utility/laundry room, kitchen, take out garbage, straightens up beds - she will unload the dishwasher and clean up anything left out in the kitchen
I pick up the house entirely before she gets here if possible. She'll put away some misc. toys etc but try to make it easy so she can get in and out. I think she's usually done w/in 2 hrs and sometimes has someone with her.
If I had the extra money, I would totally do it. As soon as Jeramy gets a job I'm definitely getting somebody. As it is the house is a disaster with sick kids and no sleep for the past week and a half. I'm thinking about having the folks who cleaned my house a month or so come back and do another cleaning.

What everyone else said, but we have the basement done every other time (once a month) and we shut off 2 rooms unless we have company coming to town.
I used to shut the laundry room but a neighbor said she cleans her wash machine so I think i'll let her in there next time
We don't do beds, currently, but may add that in later.
