Vasectomy Clause?

Did you all hear about the vasectomy clause that was voted down as an amendment to the Sonogram bill?   I thought it was pretty interesting.

    I think this is what the clause is (boiled down):

    an amendment that would have allowed pregnant women, who chose to not get an abortion, to apply for a court order requiring the father of the child to undergo a vasectomy, if the pregnancy occurred outside of marriage and the father previously had two or more children outside of marriage with two or more women.

    I don't this could possibly hold up in court if passed. Just as you can't make a woman use birth control or tie her tubes, you can't make a man get a vasectomy.

    That's what I was thinking reading that...there's no way on earth that would ever hold up in court.

    Exactly. This amendment may actually serve to kill the bill since the amendment is not enforceable.

    The bill passed but not with the amendment.  I thought it was an interesting way to even up the whole thought process.  Why should a man be forced to get a vasectomy when a woman is being forced to listen to something she may not want to.

    I think the whole bill is just wrong!
