Flying anyone

I'm leaving for Florida this evening and was just wondering if anyone can tell me anything about flying while pregnant? Does it feel any different? Maybe it's a stupid question but I have no idea. Each flight is only an hour or so long so I should be ok to sit without too much problem.

Re: Flying anyone

  • I traveled for work all of the time while pregnant.  I felt no difference!

  • It doesn't feel different, but they do recommend (or at least my OB did when I flew while pg with Eli) to get up and walk at least 1 time each hour, especially if it is a long flight to prevent clots in the legs.  Not that that advice is much different than I have heard for people who travel a lot anyways.  :)  I just made sure to get up one time on our 2.5 hour flight to go to the restroom.

  • Thanks ladies. I had no idea but thought I would ask. I'm so excited to get outta here for a little bit!. Have a great weekend!
  • I had a flight from Vegas to Atlanta when I was around the same point in pregnancy as you.  It was a red eye, so maybe contributory, but my legs were so swollen when we got off I could barely walk, it was incredibly painful.  Make sure to get up and walk around for sure!
