TTC After a Loss

I feel like I am going through puberty

My skin is horrible. I am even breaking out on my back. I guess my hormones are to blame. All of this just got bad in the last couple of months. I know you aren't supposed to use products with salicylic acid or benxol peroxide while pregnant. What can I use that will be safe while ttc? I have just been washing with cetaphil.

  • I have issues with acne sometimes... and I just use bar soap that you would use in the shower...  I think its Dove... it works pretty well actually.

  • I don't really have a solution. Maybe change make up to a more gentle one, maybe for sensitive skin? Maybe one of the moisturizers that also treat acne? Aveeno had one that I use to use that I think helped my skin adjust to all the washing.  There might be something in the organic section that doesn't have salicylic acid or benxol peroxide. ?? My skin has gotten so crazy dry that the cetaphil is the only thing that keeps it from looking like a cracked desert. Seriously, flakes falling off my face and body if I didn't use it. I always moisturize after washing now. If only I could figure this dandruff thing out. . .

  • This is a weird question, but how old are you?  If you are mid-late 30's, I recently got some great advice at a facial, which was if I tried something with more moisturizer in it for cleaning, that would help my breakouts (apparantly, as you get older, your skin is drier, so if you are using cleansers for teens and you are older, the super drying aspects of those cleansers can make your breakouts worse b/c your skin overcompensates). So, way too long of an answer, but I switched to the Neutragena cream cleanser about 6 months ago and my skin has been SOOOO much better ever since.

  • Penny, I ended up going to see a dermatologist.  Because she knows we are TTC she doesn't want to give me anything too heavy so I have a prescribed topical cream but I also use a over-thecounter soap bar Pan-Oxyl which I have seen a change in the skin.  It is really drying so make sure you have a good moisturizer to use afterwards.I alternate with CeraVe foaming cleanser and use the CeraVe moisturizer.

  • I feel the same way!! I have been breaking out like crazy! I use Cetaphil too actually, but it doesn't give me miraculous results like people claim it will. What gives?? I'm tired of having the shiny forehead of a 13 year old!
