Do you keep most of the clothing that your child outgrows? Or do you hand it on to friends/goodwill or sell it?
A few bits and pieces I have been keeping incase we have another boy but I am also thinking that if we do have another boy I don't really want him to have Coop's hand me downs either. Anyway over the past month or so I have been selling some stuff on Ebay & I just looked at my PayPal account - I am now $3,210.77 richer!! Boy some people pay top dollar for used clothing!!
Re: Outgrown clothing
I have a friend with a 2 y.o. DD and a 5 month old DD and we just trade clothes back and forth. It's great because new clothes get added into the rotation as grandparents buy cute little outfits as gifts, I find some outfit I have to have from Carter's, etc.
I think once both of us are done having kids, we'll consign what's left and split the profit.

This. I keep throwing things in buckets and passing them along to SIL since I cannot store much. I have clothes all the way up to 3T - I just pulled a bunch of 2T stuff that fits (like the "Momma's Boy" shirt below). My clotheshorse friend will just keep passing them along to me as her kids outgrow - or selling them to me at a major discount. I am SO GLAD I had a boy for this very reason.
$3K for resell?!?! That is ridonkulously cool...good for you (and also frightening how much you might have spent originally - but way to recoup!)
I got rid of most of her 0-12 month items. Replacing them has only been about $65 so far, and I'll buy just a few more specific pieces. I did a post on my method. I'm pretty sure it doesn't violate the TOS if I link to it since I don't sell anything.
I had a good laugh at myself for the only having one line

I love the rainbow theme idea too!
Fortuneatly for me I brought 90% of Coop's clothing when we were living in the USA. A Ralph Lauren polo here in Australia is around $100 compared to the $20 I paid for it in the USA -so infact I got more than I originally paid for many used items I sold
