This
is a place for any of you who are experiencing the world of
azoospermia. Whether you were recently diagnosed and are trying to make
sense of it all, or you have started preparing for IVF or IUI, or have
decided instead to move on to adoption. Please join in the group by
posting! Check in is on Thursdays. Learning
that the chances of having a biological child with your husband are
slim to none is not easy, and is, frankly, devastating news. This check
in is a place where we can share how we are coping (or not) with our
new realities, provide information we've learned through investigating
our options, adjusting our lifelong dreams and plans, and dealing with
the situation. I'd
like to extend an invitation to those who have been fortunate enough to
experience pregnancy, childbirth, and/or adoption. Ultimately, all of
us desire to create a family. The experiences and insight of those who
have reached that goal will be quite helpful to those of us on that
road. AZOO SUCCESS STORIES! (Whether through IUI/IVF or Adoption) Craschi: BFP after d-IUI#2 on 10/08/09 Baby Ethan born 6/4/10 at 38 weeks 4 days Dejavu Baby Boy Landon born 3/17/09!! Congrats on the bfps! Update on me: saw the mfi specialist yesterday. Dh is now on a cocktail of drugs to see if getting his count up from 1 for a better chance at a bio ivf. Looking into financing and deciding when to schedule the ivf which is really stressful. We want to give the meds a chance to work, but we don't want dh to get worse and lose our window to do a successful biopsy. QOTW: w are going to hawaii in exactly 2 weeks! The trip is non refundable and we booked long before we had any idea what we were in for, so we said F it, lets have fun instead of lose money!

I saw your post the other day. DH is on Arimidex too. Our Dr. said to give it 3-6 months to work. After just a month his blood work had improved. We haven't had any follow up blood work or S/A. That comes this month.
QOTW: We are going to the Bahamas in 4 weeks! My sister is student teaching right now, so we are going on her elementary school's spring break...it'll be me and DH, my parents, my sister, and my BFF and her boyfriend. Like a PP, we booked this trip way before we knew all the costs involved in DH's surgeries, so we are just going to make the best out of it and try not to think about azoo for a week!

Obviously that was before Azoo He doesn't like birthday "parties", soI figured a mini vacaiton somewhere here in Florida would be nice. As for cheap vacations I have found great deals bidding on hotels on Priceline. You pick the star level so even though you don't know which hotel you are bidding on you know the area and star level. I have never been disappointed and have gotten some dirt cheap hotels. If you priceline start your bids really low and work your way up in $5 increments. I have booked 4 and 5 star hotels for $100 or less by really low balling my first bid and inching the price up so that I don't over pay.

Update of us: We had an early u/s at 5 weeks, 3 days and saw the sac and yolk sac, but no fetal pole. Also the sac was measuring behind by 4 days so RE said it's a "wait and see". I go back next week for a follow up u/s. Please send prayers!
QOTW: We're actually scheduled to go to Mexico for a week in May. Should be fun!
Update: We had our second ultrasound today (6w4d). We saw the yolk sac, gestational sac, and this time we were able to see a heartbeat as well. The doctor told us the heart rate was a strong 133. We will still be going to the RE for weekly ultrasound appointments for the next few weeks...until he feels that we're out of the woods and the pregnancy is viable.
QOTW: Well, we actually just got back from Walt Disney world. We spent 5 nights there. It was lots of fun! I am so glad that we went...it helped me to get my mind off of things.

Hi Ladies! Sorry I am so late with this update...When I went for my first beta my number was a 42, which they thought was low. I went for my second three days later and my number only went up to a 48. They told me I was probably experiencing a CP and I was scheduled to go for a third beta three days later. That beta came back at 104, which was a good rise but not as high as they would like to see it. Currently I am going for a fourth tomorrow morning and depending on that number they might be scheduling an ultrasound for the end of this week.
Thinking positive thoughts!!
Do you have any vacations or getaways planned for the spring/summer?
DH and I will *hopefully* get away for a week in June depending on what will be going on with my snow days. My principal is trying to get it so we only have to add one day to our school year instead of the six snow days we had to take this year. Something about our school day being longer than required by RI state law. Where is still under consideration depending on what happens with our little bean.
