Why can't the VBAC philosophy be the general birth philosophy?

Went for my 32 week appt today.  Met with another of the OBs in the practice.  He's fine with me trying to VBAC.  He said, "here is my philosophy on VBAC....we want as close to a natural birth as possible.  We try to avoid pitocin and interventions, we just want you to have a nice picture perfect delivery without complications."

Well me too Doc!  Its interesting to me that in a time when intervention after intervention are pushed on women, that it takes a VBAC to get the docs to be hands off.

He did say that they would have "minimal tolerance" for any complications and things had to proceed smoothly.  I get that and I'm ok with that.

Anyway, here's to hoping for a nice "picture perfect" delivery in several weeks....

Yes, if only they took that approach to all low-risk pregnancies, right?

Good luck with your birth--you are so close!

I agree!  Instead, they try to rush things along with all the interventions.
