C-Section Mommas ? about waxing...

Sorry but I have to ask, if you wax...when did you after c-section. I am concerned it could rip the incision site open, but I was hoping to take car of things before my follow up at 6 weeks.

  • Oh goodness I didnt even try it. I was still really sore and I had stitches instead of staples.

  • I went right after my 6 week pp (like an hour after- haha) - I wanted the doctor to make sure everything had healed properly before I went and put hot wax on anything. I did however trim everything up a bit before I went, just for my own sake (and to make the waxing not HORRID) - and I figured my OB had seen worse :)

  • I don't wax :s But my manicure place says that they don't do waxing for C-sec patients until 6 months after the C-sec.. The skin there is still really tender until at least 3 months.. Just my personal exp though.
  • I would wait for the ok. just to make sure everything is looking good because the last thing you want is to have it open up. Personally I still won't do it but mine is still sore after a year. (I have talked with my Dr. and he said that can be normal for some people) At 10months mine got infected again. So I would just be careful.

  •  I would wait. My incision reopened around 5 weeks because I was doing too much. And still, 15 months later, when they pull my skin tight to pull the wax, it hurts pretty good around the incision. I cannot imagain how awful it would have been when it was still new. OUCH!

I promise your doctor doesn't think twice about what you have going on down there.

  • See I am very glad I asked this question now. I have tlfelt like I haven't even had a c-section since probably a week and a half post pardum. But everything you ladies mentioned is what I was concerned about, so doc will just have to deal with the best trim I can do and as for the rest...we'll wait and see. Thanks ladies.

  • I am almost 4 months out from my Csection and every once in a while it will bleed a dot or two and so I would be terrified to wax.

  • I'm glad you asked this question!  I got my eyebrows done yesterday and felt like a new woman, lol, and I was wondering about bikini waxing too. I'm 4 weeks post-op and the whole area is still really numb. After reading pp responses I think I'll wait awhile.
