NBR- dinner ideas

A couple of friends, my parents, DH, baby and I are going to dinner Saturday to celebrate my birthday.  I was hoping to go some place that isn't a chain so that we can try something new.  I like Teak (thai and sushi) but other than that I can't think of anything!  Italian is always fun/good- any other ideas from you smart ladies?  I dont really care what area of town.

  • For [laid back] Italian, we really like Ferrari's Little Italy (in Madeira).
  • Virgil's Cafe in Bellevue,KY is small but AWESOME food and a great atmosphere! Its one of our favorites for special occasions- https://www.virgilscafe.com/homepage.php

Buona Vita Pizzaria is another one in Dayton/Bellevue,KY and it has some of the best pizza around. I havent been to their new location but I've heard the interior is really cool, its in an old bank and they have tables in the old vault (so I've heard). Plus its family and locally owned which I always like to support local business.

  • I'd recommend Bella Luna and The View (same owners as Bella Luna), Knotty Pine in Cold Spring, KY (yummy Cajun cuisine) or Pompilio's in Newport.

They just opened a Stone Creek in the old Mesh right off Union Center as well. We went there last weekend and it was very good.
