Re: Announcement!!!!!!!!! Announcement!!!!!!!!!
I mean, good for her that she BF'd her son to a year... but it doesn't sound like she even really wanted to stop, but rather gave into the pressure of everyone asking when she would and weaning him to cows/goats milk. I guess I shouldn't judge, b/c I weaned DS at 6m, b/c that was when all the books said you should at least BF till... then I realized with DD that it was a minimum recommendation, and that by no means did it mean I had to stop! I wish there were more high profile extended BFing mamas out there, so those of us who do choose to nurse our children until they wean themselves won't be looked upon as freakazoids.
I never thought she would make me cry, but she just did.
I'm sad that she stopped because of pressure to do so. It didn't seem like she really wanted to wean.

I've been breastfeeding for 14 months and I've yet to get any negative comments. If anything, people have been really positive about it. I've been pleasantly surprised. :-)

I am sorry if I offended anyone-- I am also someone who BF past a year. While I didn't get negative comments, I did get, "Really?" kind of comments. So neutral I guess!
Oh no! You didn't offend me at all. :-) Like I said, I'm actually surprised that I haven't gotten any of those comments yet. No bad feelings here.

Um, not me. Mine came to the conclusion that they are merely decorative.
That was actually very beautiful what she wrote.
She certainly made more of an effort than I ever did!
I think she's the most human of the three sisters. I don't watch the shows or anything, but I read Us Weekly, so I know all about them.
Yeah pretty much this. I am very happy that someone "famous" is making breastfeeding seem awesome though so I can't fault her for sharing her experience. I just feel bad because I think she should have and could have and probably wanted to continue longer. Not taking this away from her though. Something to be very proud of!
I agree, sounds like she was pressured to stop, but both didn't sound ready to do so.
