Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Superficial Question

Has anyone noticed a change in your skin since your miscarriage?  I had my D&C almost 2 weeks ago, and this past week I've noticed that my skin has been breaking out much more than normal.  It's out of control!  I wonder if this could be a side effect of the hormones.  Or maybe it's just another screw you from the world...

Re: Superficial Question

  • Just blame the hormones.  My skin had actually started to get better while pregnant.  At least now, I can get back out the hardcore acne meds.

  • Not only is my skin horrible (breaking out and just in bad shape), but I gained 5 lbs in November with my first M/C and despite working out religiously, managed to gain another 5 with the recent ectopic.  I think it's a "Screw you" from the world to be honest.

Good thing is, like your subject heading suggests", it's just a superficial thing we  need to deal with, that will definitely pass as soon as our hormones and our bodies stop waging war against us.

  • Yes - my skin was a hot mess for awhile.  I had a D&C 9 weeks ago and still it isn't back to "normal" but is waaaay better.

  • Yes mine broke out bad after D&C and I hated looking like a 13 year old going through puberty it is finally clearing up 4 weeks after....whew!
  • I definitely look like a 13 year old.  It's insane!  And I'm trying everything to not gain weight AND to lose the weight I had gained while pregnant.  I know it's silly to focus on these minor things now, but I feel like at least it's something I should have some control over- unlike everything else!  Thanks world, for the extra F U
