headache & vomiting...call doc?

in 2nd Trimester

had a massive headache earlier today. just as it was going away it came back. I also haven't been able to keep anything in my stomach...including chicken soup & crackers. i havent been having a problem with morning sickness, just nausea, the occasional throwing up & the customary stomach acid while brushing my teeth. the only other time that i had a problem with not being able to keep any food down was one day last week. but the next day i was fine. 

i took a nap and the headache is gone, well 80% gone, it's just pretty dull now not as intense as before. should i call the doc or is this just normal pregnancy stuff?

    I would call your doc.  I have heard of plenty of people that vomit after migrane headaches.  I would call to just be safe.  You want to make sure that you are getting enough food.

    I get a bad headache about once a week so you are lucky this is your first lol. My dr actually put me on prescription headache meds.  I throw up a lot with my headaches too. If you are concerned you can call you dr but mine says its part of a normal pregnancy. Drink lots of water because dehydration is the#1 cause of headaches in pregnancy

    I had terrible headaches in the beginning.  So bad that  I could only lay in a dark room with a wet cloth on my head.  I always think if you are worried call.  I am sure it is th hormones but it is good to talk to someone who would put your mind at ease.

    I was just getting ready to write this very exact situation for today for me. My husband called the doctor for me and I was told to lay in a cool dark room and drink a cold coke and put some ice packs on my head....and if the condition continued in the morning to call the doc again and they'll get me in to see the doc tomorrow.

    I had this last weekend and I went to the dr this past wednesday. They were worried it may have been preeclampsia because I had had one high bp reading when I first got pregnant. I had a horrible headache then threw up several times. They tested my urine and took my bp. Everything was fine. You should go to the dr and at least get checked out.

    I completely agree.  Since it doesn't sound like you have a history of headaches, I would let your doctor know.
