Anyone deliver there? Experience? Good? Bad? I hear soo many great things about Hoag, and my doc is in Orange and delivers at St. Joseph's. So I wanted to find out what the deal is with that hospital- or do I need to find a new doc?! Thanks, ladies!
I delivered there and it wasn't bad but it wasn't great, the experiences people talk about with Hoag sound a lot better than mine. If it wasn't for really liking my doctor and living 5 minutes away from it I would've went to Hoag. But for my next pregnancy I will be switching
I had one nurse who everytime asked me about my pain level and when I would rate it at a 9 or 10 would try and tell me there was no way I could be at that level pain because of how far dialated I was. For me that really upset me because I know my body and my body was in pain so for her to try and change what I was saying p*ssed me off.
I delivered at St. Joseph's and had a great experience. ?Loved the L&D team and the nurses were so helpful and nice. ?It's also great because the majority of their rooms are private. ?Also a huge plus is that it's next door to CHOC and if you plan on cord blood banking it's super reasonable compared to some of the companies that do it and charge you a yearly storage fee you'll only pay one flat fee and that's it. ?Definitely don't get a new dr., it's a great hospital! ?Let me know if you have any other questions.
Also I think they have moved or will be soon into the new hospital which supposedly has all new L&D/pot partum rooms. I haven't seen them but I've heard it's nice.
That being said my doc is at Hoag.

Good luck
