job opportunity + pumping question

i hadn't planned on going back to work after dd was born but an office manager position has literally been placed in my lap. but that means i have to think about daycare and the cost of it. also, i know i should start stockpiling a milk supply. how often should i pump? after every feeding or between feedings? she's eating every 3.5 to 4 hours.

Re: job opportunity + pumping question

  • I would just nurse her on one side and pump the other, then when you switch pump the other side. I don't know about you, but for me unless the pumping is replacing a feeding I don't get much at all. If I try to pump after a feeding I get nothing.

  • My SIL suggested pumping the opposite side as well (we only nurse on one side). I don't have enough storage stuff to do that all the time but I did it this morning and it worked well.
