Want to laugh at me?

The first time we bought Livy yogurt I grabbed some of the Gerber peach stuff, since she loves peaches and peach puffs so much.  She didn't really dig the yogurt.  So I started adding small bits of sliced peaches and she just gobbles it up.

So I just bought a couple Yoplaits in a couple different flavors for her to try.  I cut up some blueberries to add to the blueberry yogurt, then opened it up, and...there were already blueberries in it!!  Doh!  Can you tell I don't eat yogurt??  LoL

  • I totally thought you were going to say you stirred it and the realized the fruit came up from the bottom (many are like that - too funny).

We LOVE the DanoNino mini yogurts from Costco. Extra calcium, protein and VitD too! I like that they are smaller so we don't have 1/2 open containers in the frig.

Another "trick" to sneak in more protein is to let a small amount of chia seeds soak in the yogurt. They are a wonderful superfood and it only gives the yogurt a slight tapioca-like texture.
  • I thought it was funny, I was totally expecting plain yogurt!  LoL

So in the future if I want yogurt with no fruit in it, do I need to stick with the baby stuff?  At our last pedi visit, they said that regular yogurt was fine and we didn't need to buy the "baby stuff", but I'd rather it not already have fruit in it.  I used a fork to pull the chunks out and they were mostly around the same size as the pieces I cut myself, but I'm assuming that the other fruits may be bigger chunks (strawberry, peach, etc.)

  • No the other fruits are not bigger and they are really soft.

  • I just buy plain yogurt because the flavored stuff has so much sugar, food coloring, etc. in it.  I also buy a huge bag of frozen blueberries and raspberries.  I defrost a bit in the microwave, mush it, and mix it with the yogurt.  Takes a minute total and I don't have to decipher what those words on the ingredients list mean.  :)
