DS was born at 10:59 PM and we stayed that night and the next. Since he was born so late at night I had the option to stay an extra night, but by that time I was ready to go home anyways. If he would have been born after midnight, then I would have stayed 2 additional nights. Hope that makes sense. And I would say my delivery was routine and it was vaginal.

Checked in Friday at 3PM. DS born at 2:31AM Saturday. Left Monday afternoon. Uncomplicated vaginal delivery, but DS was jaundiced, so we got the extra day. I am probably in the minority--- I didn'tmind staying. This time, I will probably want to get home to DS#1!
I was admitted for a csection Monday at 11 and discharged Friday at 11. Could have gone home on Thursday but insurance paid for the extra day so we stayed to work on breast feeding and me walking around more/better.
Checked in Tuesday night to start an induction. Tried to induce Wed and Thurs. Ended up with an uncomplicated c/s late Thursday night. We were released Sunday morning. So 2.5 days after delivery.
I couldn't get out fast enough. Itty bitty hospital had 3 rooms and nowhere to go. I was feeling very claustrophobic.
I had an uncomplicated vag delivery with DS. I checked into the hospital for my induction around 11 on Friday. He arrived at 10:29pm that night and we were sent home late Saturday evening.
I answered 2 days, but really it was 2 nights after delivery.
We went into L&D at 11pm on a Friday night and I came home late morning on Sunday. I could have come home on Saturday, but decided to hang out there another night. I had a vaginal delivery.
I went to the hospital at midnight (Wednesday morning), had DS at 1:30pm that afternoon (vaginally - no complications) and was discharged on Friday...so two nights.
Uncomplicated vaginal delivery. I was induced. Arrived at the hospital at 6:00 am Monday morning...DD was born at 4:20 pm that same day. We were discharged around noon on Wednesday.
Allie ~ 01/26/09 ~ 7 lbs, 9 oz ~ 20.75 in.
& Amelia ~ 03/16/11 ~ 8 lbs, 1 oz ~ 21 in.
I selected 4 days, because my induction lasted 2 days (checked in Friday, had DS Sunday) then wasn't discharged until Tuesday. DS was jaundiced and had to stay in the nursery under the bili lights until Thursday, so I had to come every 2-3 hours for those 2 additional days to breastfeed. Not to mention the follow-up doctor's appointments and blood draws on the days after that. Needless to say it was a long week.
Edited to add: I had a vaginal delivery with a routine episiotomy, no other complications.

DD was born at about 1:30 on a Thursday and we were out later Saturday morning. I would have left earlier, but the doctor's took their sweet time discharging us!
I voted 3 days. I was admitted at 7:00 am ish on Wednesday morning. Delivered at 7:17 pm on Wednesday night. Stayed Wednesday and Thursday night and went home around 3:00 pm on Friday. I had a vaginal delivery with no major complications. DD was born at 39 weeks 4 days.

I guess I clicked the wrong answer -- I thought you meant how many days in recovery. Checked in Tuesday AM, checked out Thursday PM, after a routine vaginal delivery.
I chose 2 nights. Our hospital's standard for an uncomplicated vaginal delivery is "two midnights" from the time that the baby is born; for a c-section it's "3 midnights".
uncomplicated. got to the hospital around 4pm on friday, had DS at 10:28pm went home sunday around 4pm. they wanted to send me home sunday morning but i asked for the extra few hours. so basically 1.5 days. sucks i wanted more time!
Went in Sunday at 4pm, DS was born Tuesday night at 9:30pm, Went home Friday around Noon - Since we were there since Sunday night we were ITCHING to get out of there... about 4.5 days total.
I had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. Went in 6 days overdue to be induced and was already at 3 cm, had my baby 12 hours later, and left the hospital the next day at 5 p.m. So I was there a total of 36 hours-ish.
Re: How long did you stay in the hospital? *Added Clicky Poll*
I had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery, we stayed for a 1.5 days I think
Checked in on Monday to start Cervidal, then Tuesday started Pitocin and had Alex.
My hospital allows you to stay 1-2 days for vaginal so I stayed the full 2 days. I left Thursday night.
