Who has started Christmas shopping?

I do almost all of our shopping, and I'm trying to avoid taking dd out into the christmas rush madness, so I've started already.  I'm slowly checking ppl off my list. Anyone else?

Re: Who has started Christmas shopping?

  • No, I'm envious! Have you found any good deals or interesting products?

  • I have also started. Last year I had everyone done and all the presents wrapped by December 1! I'm hoping to do the same this year.

  • I'm currently in the planning stages but will make my first trip out thi weekend.   I like to start early because the closer it gets to Christmas the more packed the stores are, and the busier it seems I am so I have less time to do it without having kids with me.

I hope to be completely finished before Thanksgiving - we'll see :)

  • Actually, Kohls.com is running some great toy sales right now, and for 3 days they have 99 cent shipping.

Also, I believe restaurant.com is still honoring the 80% off code, TREATS.  I got SIL and BIL a $50 gc for $4.

  • I have!  I have 30 people to buy for and like you I want to avoid having my little one out in the mad rush!
  • Blech! No way...I hate starting early.  I just don't have a good place to keep everything, so I'd probably end up losing most of it by Christmas.  We prefer to shop the last few weeks before Christmas, wrap it all and then get rid of it.  You will also never see me anywhere near a mall or shopping center on Black Friday! LOL

  • I started months ago to try to spread out the cost.  We have a lot of people to shop for, and I now have everyone done but our parents...I think.
  • I have started and have my entire family almost done.  I haven't even touched DH's side.  But, we are celebrating Christmas with my family around Thanksgiving, so I have to have things ready to go.

I did get my Christmas cards almost finished last night so that is a huge relief!

  • Pinkylu -

Thank you for the code to restaurant.com. I've never tried it before and now I have some more people checked of my list. Thanks again!

  • I usually start in September. I like to be done by December. I've got Ellie pretty much done, and have finished two of six nephews. I need to get to Toys R Us this week to check off a third nephew, and I know what I'm getting my dad. The rest is up in the air.
  • I have!  I am FINISHED!!!!  Gotta get a stocking stuffer for DH and we are buying our camera this weekend and it will be TOTALLY DONE!!!!  Thank goodness!  I love being done early!
Our kids are 19mths apart and we LOVE it!!

  • NOT ME - I'm one of the weird ones! LOL!  I don't like shopping early - it takes all the fun out of it!  I love the crowds, the Christmas music, love the lights and decorations in the mall....if I shop early, I feel like I miss all this!  Not to mention, in previous years when i did get some gifts early, I forgot what the heck I bought and I hid them so good that I completely forgot some things!!!!  Don't get me wrong, I don't wait until Dec. 24th to shop, but I do wait until early Dec.
  • I started, but feel like I should have more done by now.  I do a lot of it online just because I hate malls with a passion during the holidays.  My goal is to have it all done and wrapped before Dec 10.

  • I started a month and a half ago for E.  Since he is too little to understand Santa, we bought a lot of 2nd hand toys at Once Upon a Child.  Figure next year we can't do that probably, so we are enjoying it this year, while we can.  So we went to the store every other weekend for the last month and a half.  We did got to TRU to finish E's and to buy our nephew's.  So E is almost done (we might get him one or two more small things) and the nephew is done.  We still have the hardest ones to buy for left, MIL, FIL, BIL, and SIL.  These are people who buy $500 purses for each other for Christmas and complain because it is the wrong color.  They are hard to please.  Thinking that the restarant.com thing would be GREAT for BIL/SIL.  That just leaves MIL and FIL.  YUCK.  Plus all the other people to buy for still.  I plan to do some online shopping if we don't have everything done before black thursday, because I HATE being out with all the 4 billion people in December.
