Night nanny?

This question is for a friend.  She is having baby 2, and is considering hiring a night nurse/nanny.  Does anyone have a referral?  Or have any idea on cost?  Extravagant I know, but I can't blame her if she can afford it Smile.

Re: Night nanny?

  • Funny that you ask that today, several other boards all over TB/TN were having heated discussions about night nurses yesterday.  According to those threads, a night nurse costs around $1000 a week.

    This!

  • We hired a night nanny a few times when the girls were little and DH was traveling.  We used Home Management Services:

I can't remember the name of the woman we used - however, we liked her a lot.  She was a sweet 50ish lady who had previously been a nurse.   Her price back then was $17/hr.  I know that they generally range between $15 and $20/hour.

  • Thanks for the info ladies.  I wonder what all the drama/debate is about on the other boards.  I totally teased her, but she has a 2 year old and she's worried about taking too much time/energy away from her 2 year old if she's up all night with a baby.  So while it sounds extravagant, it's really about mommy guilt for her.
