High-Risk Pregnancy

Small for gestational age (25 weeks), surprise amnio:(

Hi everyone, at my routine ultrasound yesterday (24w+6), they discovered my baby was measuring small, about 23 weeks.  They said it was either because I am small (not really, 5?4"! and my husband is 6'2"!) or because of genetic defects.  My baby did have four cpc's but they have since disappeared.  The doctors then suggested amnio, which we decided yes to, and had it about an hour later.  I am worried on so many levels even though my 1st trimester test said I was at a 1:10000 risk.  Anybody else in this situation?  How can we help our babies grow?  I am eating properly, sleeping, walking a lot...

  • One of my babies is measuring 3 weeks too small. But he also has low amniotic fluid and a small sac.  They told me it could be chromosomal, viral or placental.  My dr seems to be leaning towards placental.  He thinks the placenta is just in a bad place.

  • My baby is measuring 2 weeks behind. My doctor is okay with it though because I already have 3 children and my biggest one was 6 lbs 2 oz. She stated that some women just have small babies. I'm 5'4 as well, if that helps any.

  • I hope it's just a small baby and nothing serious!
  • Did you have amnio to find out or more ultrasounds?
